Chicken broth is made by simmering chicken meat in liquid (usually water) with seasonings. This differs from stock in that chicken stock is made by simmering bones.


Chicken broth is often found in recipes that also contain chicken, red bell pepper, potatoes, white wine, garlic and onions


Substitution for 1 cup chicken broth:

1 cup water
1 whole chicken bouillon cubes

Dissolve cube in boiling water.
