Self-rising flour is a combination of all- purpose flour, salt, and baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). It is mainly used for making shortbreads, pancakes, or biscuits. This not a good substitute for all purpose flour, nor should it be used in yeast breads which already use yeast as a leavening agent.

Self-rising flour is often found in recipes that also contain Greek yogurt
