Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 4 large apples ; tart, peeled, cored, and cut in 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water ; cold
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

  • Directions

    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the apples, and cook until almost tender, or about 7 minutes.

    Combine water and cornstarch in  small bowl, and stir until dissolved.  Add to the skillet. Stir in the cinnamon and brown sugar.

    Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Serve warm.
