Ingredients (serves 180)

  • 108 ounces cranberries ; fresh
  • 9 cups water
  • 9 cups apples ; peeled, cored, diced
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons allspice
  • 18 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/8 teaspoons cloves
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons ginger
  • 6 3/4 cups sugar

  • You will also need: saucepan

    Directions

    1. Combine water and sugar in a large saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
    2. Add apples, cider vinegar, raisins, the spices and cranberries.
    3. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour into a bowl, and cover with plastic wrap.
    4. Refrigerate, or cool to room temperature and serve. Original recipe yields 2 1/2 cups.
