Ingredients (serves 24)

  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1.998 cups cocoa powder
  • 12 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1.998 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups butter ; lightly beaten
  • 12 egg(s)
  • 48 ounces cherries ; fresh or canned cherry pie filling
  • 6 pie shell

  • You will also need: saucepan


    In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, flour and milk until smooth. Add butter. Bring to a boil - cook and stir for 2 mins. Remove from heat. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into eggs. Return to pan. fold half of cherry pie filling in. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 mins. Cool completely on wire rack. Before serving top with remaining pie filling.
