Warm bread that tastes like apple pie.
Ingredients (serves 20)
You will also need: bread pan
Grease and flour a 9"x5" bread pan.
Combine the cinnamon and 1/3 cup of the brown sugar in a small bowl. Set aside.
In another bowl, beat the melted butter, sugar, and remaining brown sugar using a mixer on medium speed. Mix in the applesauce.
Beat in the vanilla and egg. In a separate bowl, stir together the baking powder and flour.
Add flour mixture to the egg mixture and stir until combined, taking care not to over mix. Stir in the milk. Pour half of the batter into the prepared bread pan.
Top with half of the apple and half of the brown sugar mixture set aside previously. Stir the remaining apples into the remaining batter and pour into the bread pan.
Top with remaining brown sugar mixture.
Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven.
Remove from the oven, and brush with the tablespoon of melted butter.
Return to the oven and continue baking for 5 to 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the bread pan.
