Apples come in many varieties, and some are more suitable for certain cooking tasks than others.

Differences in sweetness, tartness or tenderness can affect the outcome of recipes calling for apples.

Use this guide to choose the correct apple for the job.

Apple season is over here We have some really good ones, a cultivar called “Honeycrisp.” YUM!I have some apples around that I need to use soon; any suggestions for a REALLY easy tart or pie recipe? (I can do pie dough okay at least!)
