Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 2 1/2 pounds beef brisket
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 medium onions ; diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

    Directions

     Prep: 15 min | Cook: 9 hr | Ready in: 9 hr 15 min
    1. Put the brisket into the slow cooker and sprinkle on the salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Press these seasonings into the top of the brisket.
    2. Add the diced onion and the other remaining ingredients.
    3. Set cooker to LOW heat, cover, and cook for 8 to 10 hours or until the brisket is fork-tender. 
    4. Transfer to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes, covered in foil, before slicing.  
    5. Carve into thin slices and top with the sauce from the slow cooker.
