Ingredients (serves 3)

½ 2x 3x Reset

  • 3.6 cups water
  • 1.8 onions ; small, diced
  • 0.3 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.6 teaspoon turmeric
  • 0.6 cup chickpeas ; cooked
  • 0.3 cup lentils ; dried
  • 0.6 teaspoon mint ; dried
  • 0.6 cup barley ; dried

    Directions

    Heat oil in a saucepan and add onions. Saute until golden. In a large pot, combine all ingredients except for the chickpeas, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 1 to 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add chickpeas with about 10 minutes left of cooking time. Serves 5.
