Ingredients (serves 48)

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups butter ; or margerine, softened
  • 3 egg(s)
  • 6.999 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

  • You will also need: cookie sheet

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375F.
    2. Beat sugar and butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
    3. Stir in egg, vanilla and almond extract.
    4. Stir in baking soda and flour.
    5. Place teaspoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, placing each 2 inches apart.
    6. Flatten with the bottom of a glass. Sprinkle sugar onto the cookies.
    7. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until set.
    8. Remove from cookie sheet and cook on a rack. Original recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies.
