Original recipe serves 4
Directions
Put yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water, let stand 5 mins. Scald the milk, pour into mixing bowl and add sugar and salt and stir until dissolved. Add 1 cup water to milk mixture and when luke warm add yeast and stir well. Add lard and mix again add remainder of flour and move it around the bowl and then place on a board let it rest for 10 mins. Put down in a greast bowl and keep it warm. Let it rise for 1 hour until the size doubles. Knead it and place it in pans.
Bake at 385 for first 10 mins. then at 375 for 35 mins.
