Ingredients (serves 8)

½ 2x 3x Reset

  • 3 pounds sirloin ; steak, about 1 1/2 inches thick
  • 1/2 cup coffee ; strong, decaffinated
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce ; no salt added

     Prep: 15 min | Cook: 20 min | Ready in: 45 min
    Combine coffee, syrup, tomato sauce and Worchestershire sauce in a sauce pan. Bring to a simmmer, and remove from the heat. Transfer 2/3 a cup of the sauce to a small bowl, reserving for dipping.

    Coat a grill with cooking spray and heat to medium-high. Rub steak on both sides with pepper. Grill steak, frequently basting with the remaining mop sauce, 5 to 7 minutes per side for medium-rare. Allow steak to rest for 5 to 10 minutes.

    Cut steak into thin slices and divide evenly amoung serving plates. Serve with reserved sauce for dipping.
