Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a light, red wine made from the grape of the same name. The grape is mainly associated with the Burgundy region of France, but is grown worldwide in cool regions.

The color of Pinot Noir can vary considerably, from a cherry red to even a brown, as the wine ages. Its flavor characteristics are fruity jam (i.e. strawberry, raspberry, plum), earth, vanilla and even leather. The wine goes well with pasta with red sauces. A fine Pinot Noir can be aged for 10 years or more, but most are meant to be drunk immediately.

Pinot Noir should be served at around 61°F (16°C).
