The radish refers to an edible root (Raphanus sativus). Radishes are eaten and cultivated throughout the world. Radishes come in many varieties and are usually categorized into four categories: winter, spring, summer and fall. The radish bulbs are typically eaten raw, while the tougher varieties can be steamed.

Radishes are high in potassium, ascorbic acid, folic acid, calcium, magnesium and riboflavin.

Radishes are often found in recipes that also contain horseradish, whole wheat bread and ricotta cheese
