Grandma Willie Smith's Pecan Pie  

I got this one from my aunt. An incredibly easy, yet very tasty pecan pie.

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pie shell ; 9-inch, unbaked
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3 egg(s) ; lightly beaten
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans ; shelled

  • Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 450F.
    2. Cream sugar and butter together. Add eggs.
    3. Stir in other ingredients.
    4. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
    5. Bake for 10 minutes, then at 325 F for 30 - 40 minutes until done.
