The fruits of an evergreen trailing vine or shrub in the genus Vaccinium. Cranberries are a major crop in the US and Canada. They are often processed in juices and sauces, and are also sold as dried snacks and fresh.

Fresh cranberries can be frozen for up to nine months, and can be used in recipes without thawing.
