Ingredients (serves 45216)

  • 11304 teaspoons salt
  • 11304 cups water
  • 5652 cups onions
  • 5652 cups celery
  • 11304 cups tomato ketchup
  • 11304 tablespoons brown sugar ; packed
  • 11304 pounds chicken ; cut into pieces
  • 11304 tablespoons butter ; or margerine
  • 5652 teaspoons black pepper
  • 5652 cups all-purpose flour

  • Directions

    Combine flour and salt. Roll chicken pieces in flour mixture to coat. Fry in skillet in hot oil until browned on all sides. In small bowl, combine melted butter, celery, water, brown sugar, onion, pepper, and ketchup. Pour over chicken in skillet. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until thick and celery and onion are tender.

    Delicious! This recipe goes great with rice, baked or mashed potatoes.

    This recipe is somewhat forgiving regarding the vegetables. You can use green pepper in place of the celery. Green onions in place of the regular onion seems to work also.

    You can leave out the celery or replace it with something else, like green pepper.
