Ingredients (serves 54432)

  • 13608 tablespoons canola oil
  • 6804 cups onions ; cut into bite sized pieces
  • 6804 cups green bell pepper ; cut into bite sized pieces
  • 204120 ounces black beans ; 1 can, rinsed and well drained?
  • 6804 cups bread crumbs
  • 27216 cloves garlic ; peeled
  • 13608 teaspoons chili powder
  • 13608 teaspoons cumin
  • 13608 egg(s)
  • black pepper ; to taste
  • salt ; to taste

    Directions

     Prep: 15 min | Cook: 30 min | Ready in: 45 min
    1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute the green pepper and onion until soft,  about 10 minutes.
    2. Add the garlic, cooking for another 5.
    3. Let cool, and combine the cooked onion, green pepper and garlic in a food processor until finely minced.
    4. Combine bread crumbs, chili powder, cumin, salt and black pepper in a small bowl.
    5. Add the black beans to a large bowl and mash well with a fork.
    6. Add the bread crumb mixture, egg, and vegetable mixture. Combine completely.
    7. Form into 4 patties and grill on a preheated grill for 8 minutes per side.

    Held together well compared to other black bean burgers I've tried, and it tasted great! I made this on a George Foreman grill and it came out great. Cooking time was cut down since I didn't have to flip it.
